


On Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, the Master of Design, from the Postgraduate Faculty of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), conducted an educational and conservation tourism industry visit to Bandung Zoo, located at Jl. Kebun Binatang No.6, Lb. Siliwangi, Coblong District, Bandung City, West Java. This activity aimed to support field research (observation) for Master of Design students as part of implementing the Design Theory II course.
The visit was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rahma Wahdiniwaty, Dra, M.Si, Dean of the Postgraduate Faculty, and 21 third-semester Master of Design students, accompanied by Dr. Taufan Hidayatullah, S.Sn., M.Ds (Head of the Master of Design Study Program), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rini Maulina, M.Sn, S.Sn, (Lecturer of Master of Design), Dr. Yully Ambarsih Ekawardhani, S.Sn., M.Sn (Lecturer of Master of Design), and Mira Suci Mutiarasari, S.S (Program Study Secretary). The General Manager of Bandung Zoo, Petrus Arbeny, along with Dr. Drh. Dedi Tri Sasongko (Head of Health, Nutrition, and Research), welcomed the delegation from the UNIKOM Master of Design Study Program. During the visit, students, accompanied by lecturers and Bandung Zoo staff, explored the Bandung Zoo area and discussed existing problems. This was followed by a discussion with Bandung Zoo staff, concluding with the presentation of souvenirs by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rahma Wahdiniwaty, Dra, M.Si, and photo session for documentation.



This activity is the result of a collaboration between the Tamansari Bandung Wildlife Foundation, the manager of Bandung Zoo, and Universitas Komputer Indonesia. Through this observation, it is expected that third-semester Master of Design students can identify problems in Bandung Zoo to be used as a reference in creating a design work as a solution to these problems.
